Funky Friday Play List

It has been one hell of a crazy last couple of days, eh? Time to unwind with the beats you need to chill/party/rock the house with. A good selection - a couple of '80s classics by Herbie Hancock & M+M given the re-edit treatment by two of my faves, Dave Wrangler & Sir Billy. Alan Wilkis delivers a slice of prime Minneapolis sound funk. The Herbaliser Band are straight up live killer funk. The 18 Carat Love Affair give good synth rock disco. Stevie Wonder in dub? Oh yes... Lee Perry + Dubblestandart + Ari Up = skankin' goodness in Austria meets Jamaica dub stylee topped with post punk legend. Whomadewho give you a sweet bit of electro pop deliciousness, Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens is pure gospel soul, and Social Disco Club given the once over by Greg Wilson is just pure bliss. Yowsah!!

Alan Wilkis - Pink And Purple

Alan Wilkis' stuff is pretty sweet, isn't it?

Yes it is. I'm a big fan of his particular style of '80s electro funk. Your post hit the nail on the head.

Belated Happy Birthday!
